Hi I’m Claire, owner, designer and maker of Mollie Brown. I draw, design, create and handle all aspects of my business here in Liverpool. Although my name is Claire I decided to call my label Mollie Brown after my Grandma. I am from Edinburgh originally, but studied fashion and Textile design at Liverpool John Moores University, I met my now husband in my 3rd year and have been in Liverpool ever since! Up until recently my time was consumed designing and making clothing, selling to a few independent retailers across the country, but when I had my son Dylan I decided to make jewellery so that I could work from home and work around his busy schedule! I don’t think I had realised being a Mum would be so all consuming - ha ha!

I love making the jewellery pieces and have always had a love for colour and texture, so I hope to bring this across into my jewellery pieces. I enjoy making playful jewellery in an eclectic mix of materials from painted wood to textured brass and acrylic, finished with either gold plated or sterling silver findings.

I’ve also always had a love for fashion illustration and painting so if I ever find some extra time I enjoy trying my hand at a few of these. I have so many ideas and hope to expand on the fashion illustration side of things soon.

I used to love making clothing from beautiful fabrics, choosing vibrant prints and patterns, from African to Indian prints. I still have boxes full of fabrics, so I’m sure I will venture back into making things again soon!
